The teams are divided into groups of 4-6 teams with all teams playing against each other.
Teams are then placed according to points won.
- 3 points for a win
- 1 point for a tie
- No points for a defeat
In the group stage, the ranking in each group is determined as follows:
- Greatest number of points obtained in all group matches.
- Goal difference in all group matches.
- Greatest number of goals scored in all group matches.
- Greatest number of points obtained in the group matches between the teams concerned.
- Drawing lots.
There will finals and placement matches in all age groups.
NOTE: If there are age groups with different group sizes, the mutual pool rankings is determined as follows:
- Average points per match.
- Average goal difference per match.
- Average number of goals scored per match.
- Drawing lots.
Example: A total of 21 teams participate in a certain age group. The 21 teams are divided into five groups, of which there are four groups with four teams and one group with five teams. There are eight teams that advance to a final playoff with quarter-finals, semi-finals, finals. In the final playoff, the five best number 1’s advance together with the three best number 2’s. The three best number 2’s is found using the criteria above; average points per match, then average goal difference per match, then average number of goals scored per match, then drawing lots. For those teams that have not qualified for the final playoffs, there will be placement matches for all except the team that finishes fifth in the group with five teams. The same ranking as above applies to the placement matches.
The draw is made by the tournament administration. If the teams involved are not present, they will be notified of the draw results.
